듣는 사람이 “So who is doing that?”(그럼 그건 누가 하나요?)
- “Design is finished, and we’ve tested the booking form.” –
- “The client hasn’t approved the text yet, so the launch is at risk.” –
- “I’ll call the client today, and Priya will brief the developers by Thursday.” –
- “We’ve fallen behind schedule because two testers left.” –
- “We’ve added two people, so we can catch up.”
- “We should be back on track by the next milestone.” –
- “We have to stay within budget, so the extra licences can wait.” –
- “If we delegate testing, we can still meet the deadline.” –
지금 중요한 결과를 시점 없이 말할 때는 현재완료(have/has + 과거분사)를 씁니다: “We’ve completed three stages.” 끝난 시점을 말하거나 묻는 순간 과거시제가 됩니다: “We completed design on Monday.”, “When did they approve it?” yet, already, so far는 현재완료의 신호이고, yesterday, on Monday, ago는 과거시제의 신호입니다.
가 맞고 “Yes, we’ve.”
- “Has the client approved it yet?” “No, not yet.”
- “We’ve made the change already.” –
- “They reviewed the test results on Monday.” –
정중한 부탁 “Could you do that after the call?”(통화 후에 그 일을 해 줄 수 있어요?)
Maya Where are we with the website project?
Owen Design is finished, but the client hasn't approved the text.
Maya Please call the client today. I'll update the schedule.
Owen Who will brief the developers?
Maya Could you do that after the call?
Owen Yes. I'll confirm both tasks by four.
나쁜 소식은 일찍 알리고 계획을 함께 제시하세요: “We’ve fallen behind because testing found problems with payments. We need two more weeks, and I’d rather tell you now than miss the date.”(결제 기능 테스트에서 문제가 나와 일정이 늦어졌습니다.
- Completed(완료): “We’ve finished the design and the first tests.”
- At risk(위험): “Launch; the client hasn’t approved the text.”
- Recovery(만회): “Priya calls the client today; developers get their brief on Wednesday.”
- Control(점검): “Friday progress check against budget and deadline.”
- Decision date(결정일): “14 March: the project lead confirms whether we are back on track.”
- “We have finished design on Monday.” 끝난 시점이 있으면 과거시제입니다: “We finished design on Monday.”
- “When have they approved it?” 시점을 묻는 질문은 과거시제로 합니다: “When did they approve it?”
- “We are behind the schedule.”
- “I’ll confirm until four.” 한국어 “4시까지”는 by와 until을 모두 뜻하지만, 마감에는 “by”를 씁니다: “I’ll confirm by four.” “until”은 계속되는 상태에 씁니다: “I’m in meetings until four.”
Have you sent the report?” “Yes, I have.” / “No, not yet.” / “By Friday.”
- 주 1회 토론 질문: “Is a deadline a guess or a promise? Do you report a delay early or try to catch up first?”(마감은 추정일까요, 약속일까요?
