Biten, bekleyen, sıradaki: her güncellemenin iskeleti
Biri “So who is doing that?” (Peki bunu kim yapıyor?) diye sormak zorunda kalıyorsa güncelleme bitmemiştir.
- “Design is finished, and we’ve tested the booking form.” – Biten iş
- “The client hasn’t approved the text yet, so the launch is at risk.” – Bekleyen iş
- “I’ll call the client today, and Priya will brief the developers by Thursday.”
- “We’ve fallen behind schedule because two testers left.” – Plandan geride kalmak
- “We’ve added two people, so we can catch up.” – Kaybedilen zamanı telafi etmek
- “We should be back on track by the next milestone.” – Plana geri dönmek
- “We have to stay within budget, so the extra licences can wait.” – Bütçeyi aşmamak
- “If we delegate testing, we can still meet the deadline.” – Görev devretmek, son tarihe yetişmek
Present perfect mi, past simple mı?
Şu an önemli olan ve zamanını söylemediğiniz bir sonuç için present perfect (have/has + fiilin üçüncü hâli) kullanın: “We’ve completed three stages.” Bitmiş bir zaman söylendiği ya da sorulduğu anda past simple gelir: “We completed design on Monday.”, “When did they approve it?” Yet, already ve so far present perfect’i; yesterday, on Monday ve ago past simple’ı gösterir.
Türkçede “Tasarımı bitirdik.” iki anlamı da karşılar; bu yüzden kendinize sorun: Bir zaman söylüyor muyum? Evetse past simple. Kısa cevaplarda yardımcı fiil tam söylenir: “Yes, we have.”, “Yes, we’ve.” değil.
- “Has the client approved it yet?” “No, not yet.”
- “We’ve made the change already.” – Şu anki sonuç
- “They reviewed the test results on Monday.”
Kibar rica “Could you do that after the call?”
Maya Where are we with the website project?
Owen Design is finished, but the client hasn't approved the text.
Maya Please call the client today. I'll update the schedule.
Owen Who will brief the developers?
Maya Could you do that after the call?
Owen Yes. I'll confirm both tasks by four.
Haber kötüyse erken söyleyin ve bir plan ekleyin: “We’ve fallen behind because testing found problems with payments. We need two more weeks, and I’d rather tell you now than miss the date.”
- Completed (Biten): “We’ve finished the design and the first tests.”
- At risk (Riskte): “Launch; the client hasn’t approved the text.”
- Recovery (Telafi): “Priya calls the client today; developers get their brief on Wednesday.”
- Control (Takip): “Friday progress check against budget and deadline.”
- Decision date (Karar tarihi): “14 March: the project lead confirms whether we are back on track.”
Sık yapılan hatalar
Bunlar durum raporunu daha az net gösterir:
- “We have finished design on Monday.” Bitmiş zaman past simple ister: “We finished design on Monday.”
- “When have they approved it?” “When” ile başlayan soru past simple ile kurulur: “When did they approve it?”
- “We are behind the schedule.” Kalıpta artikel yoktur: “We’re behind schedule.”
- “I’ll confirm until four.” Türkçedeki “dörde kadar” hem “by” hem “until” olabilir; teslim saati için “by” kullanılır: “I’ll confirm by four.” “Until” süren bir durum içindir: “I’m in meetings until four.”
- 3 dakika: Sesli cevap verin: “Have you sent the report?” “Yes, I have.” / “No, not yet.” / “By Friday.”
- 3 dakika: Toplantı konuşmasını tekrar edin, sonra son tarihi değiştirip yeniden söyleyin.
- Haftalık tartışma sorusu: “Is a deadline a guess or a promise? Do you report a delay early or try to catch up first?”
