Zara, Kai, Theo and Ms Rivera in the media club room turn to see Amara, a new student with a basketball bag, at the door. An orange cat sleeps on old newspapers in the corner.

  • “Your school has a new photo club. Write an email to Sam, the club leader.”
  • “Say who you are.”
  • “Say why you want to join.”
  • “Ask Sam a question about the club.”
  • “Write 25 words or more.”

My name is …”, “I’m thirteen.”, “I’m in class 8B.”
I want to join the … club because …”, “I love …”, “I’m good at …”
When does the club meet?”, “Where do you meet?”, “Do I need to bring anything?”, “How much does it cost?”

  • “My name is Deniz and I’m thirteen. I’m in class 8B.” →
  • “I want to join the photo club because I love taking pictures of animals.”
  • “When does the club meet? Can I use my phone?” →
  • “See you soon, Deniz” →

“How are you?”

  • “I have 13 years.” → “I’m thirteen.” 또는 “I’m thirteen years old.”
  • “I want join the club.” → “I want to join the club.”
  • “When the club meets?” → “When does the club meet?”
  • “because it is good”처럼 막연한 이유 → “because I love taking pictures of animals.”
  • 과제 베끼기: “I want to say who I am.”

“Sorry, what does … mean?”

Club member How old are you?

New member I'm twelve. Sorry, what does "editor" mean?

Club member What languages do you speak?

New member English and Twi.

  • “There is a new English club at your school. Write an email to your teacher, Ms Lee. Say what you like doing in English, say which day is good for you and ask what you need to bring. Write 25 words or more.”
질문에 “do”나 “does”를 썼나요?

A2 Key

친구에게는 “Hi Sam,”으로 시작해서 “See you soon,”과 이름으로 끝내요.

“I’m thirteen.” 또는 “I’m thirteen years old.” 영어에서는 나이를 말할 때 “be” 동사를 쓰기 때문에 “I have 13 years.”
