In a school shadow-theatre workshop, lights shine toward a white curtain. A script, two costumes and character cut-outs rest beside the empty stage while a child checks the audience seats.

9~12歳の子どもがA2レベルで、劇の準備を確かめながらjust、already、yetを使い、“We have just tested the lights.”と“I finished it yesterday.”

“just”は「たった今」(“We have just tested the lights.”)、“already”は「もう」、多くは予想より早く終わったという意味で、“yet”はまだ待っていることについての疑問文と否定文の最後に来ます(“Have you finished the script yet?”)。

  • まだ早い場合:まだ“Yesterday I go to the concert.”
  • 簡単すぎる場合:“I haven’t packed yet, but I’ve already found my ticket.”

現在完了:have/has+過去分詞

現在完了は過去の出来事を今につなげます:“We have tested the lights.”

疑問文ではhaveやhasを主語の前に出します:“Have you found the costume?” 話すときの否定文はたいてい短縮形です:“I haven’t found it.”

  • I、you、we、theyのとき:“We have tested the lights.”
  • he、she、itのとき:“She has found the costume.”

Just、already、yet、never

“just”は「たった今」です:“We have just tested the lights.” “already”は「もう、すでに」で、予想より早く終わったという感じがよくあります:“I have already checked the ending.”

“yet”は疑問文と否定文で使い、文の最後に置きます:“No, I have not found it yet.” はふつう“Have you finished yet?”になり、「まだ見つけていない」は“I haven’t found it yet.” “never”は「今まで一度もない」という意味です:“I have never performed this part before.”

Nia Have you found the costume?

Leo No, I have not found it yet.

Leo What have we just tested?

Nia We have just tested the lights.

いつ起きたかを言ったりたずねたりするとき(yesterday、ten minutes ago、last year)は過去形を使い、“When…?”

  • “I have checked the costume box.”:
  • “I checked it ten minutes ago.”:

Leo Have you finished the script yet?

Nia Yes. First I finished it yesterday. Then I checked the ending, and we have just tested the lights.

“CHARACTERS: Fox, Child, Narrator. SCENE: Behind the theatre curtain. (Child lifts a silver string.) FOX: I have just found the moon puppet. CHILD: The audience is waiting! NARRATOR: The light returns and the scene ends.”

  • “I have finished it yesterday.”:終わった時があれば過去形です:“I finished it yesterday.”
  • “I have already finish.”:過去分詞を使います:“I have already finished.”
  • “Have you yet finished?”:“yet”は最後に来ます:“Have you finished yet?”
  • “I have found it yet.”:肯定文では“already”を使います:“I have already found it.”

こうたずねます:“Have you packed your water bottle yet?” 子どもは“Yes, I have already packed it.”、“Not yet.”、“I have just done it!” 2回目は“When did you do it?”

次は、tooとenoughで問題と解決を言えるようになります:“The costume is too big.” “The string is not long enough.”

just、already、yetの違いは?

“I have finished it yesterday”

yesterdayやlast weekのような終わった時といっしょなら過去形です:“I finished it yesterday.” 時を言わないなら現在完了です:“I have finished it.”

“I just finished it”は間違いですか?

アメリカ英語では、just、already、yetといっしょに過去形をよく使います:“Did you finish it yet?”
