İngilizce kısa öykü nasıl yazılır? (B2) 50 kelimelik çekirdek, anlatı zamanları ve zarflar

At the airport, a woman reads her receipts while a man lifts a tagged suitcase onto the belt.

The message at the wrong gate

At the airport, Maya reads her receipts while Owen lifts a tagged suitcase onto the belt.

The message at the wrong gate

We had been travelling for twelve hours when my phone suddenly displayed a message from an unknown number: “Your passport is at gate 6.” I checked my bag twice. The passport had definitely gone.

I ran back through the terminal, but gate 6 was nearly empty. A cleaner was waiting beside a blue seat. She had found the passport after I had moved to another gate, yet the airline desk had refused to announce my full name publicly. Instead, she had photographed the flight number on the boarding pass inside my passport and asked the desk to send a protected message.

Fortunately, I reached the new gate just before boarding closed. At the end of the flight, I wrote to thank her. In the end, the airport changed its lost-document procedure so staff could send secure alerts immediately without revealing passenger details.

50 kelimelik çekirdekten tam öyküye

Tek bir cümleyi cilalamadan önce neyin neye yol açtığına karar verin. Tam 50 kelime yalnızca zinciri bırakır: ortam, önceki neden, olaylar ve sonuç.

“We had been travelling for twelve hours when a message arrived: my passport was at gate 6. I had left it there. Because the desk would not announce names, the cleaner who found it asked staff to message me. I boarded just in time. Later, the airport changed its rules.”

  • Kesinlik: “I checked my bag twice. The passport had definitely gone.”
  • Yorum: “Fortunately, I reached the new gate just before boarding closed.”

  • Past simple, ana olaylar: “The gate changed, I ran, and the door closed.”
  • Past continuous, süren bir eylem: “Passengers were boarding when the alarm sounded.”
  • Past perfect, daha önce tamamlanmış bir olay: “The crew discovered that a sensor had failed.”
They had been waiting for three hours when a gate was assigned.”
  • Know gibi durum fiilleriyle continuous kullanılmaz: “had been knowing” değil, “She had known about the connection”.

So ve such: sonucu gösterin

  • So + sıfat ya da zarf: “The announcement was so unclear that half the queue moved.”
  • Sayılamayan isimle so much, çoğul isimle so many: “There was so much fog that the runway closed.”
  • Such a + sıfat + tekil isim: “It was such a tight connection that I ran.”
  • Such + sıfat + çoğul ya da sayılamayan isim: “We experienced such severe turbulence that service stopped.”

Türkçede “uçuşun sonunda” ve “sonunda” aynı kelimeyi kullanır; İngilizcede biri at the end, diğeri in the end’dir:

  • Hard (emek vererek) ve hardly (neredeyse hiç): “I worked hard but had hardly slept.”
  • Late (geç) ve lately (son zamanlarda): “The train arrived late, and delays have increased lately.”
  • Near (yakınında) ve nearly (neredeyse): “The hotel is near the terminal, and it is nearly full.”
  • At the end (son nokta) ve in the end (zorluklardan sonra, sonunda): “At the end of the platform, I found the bag; in the end, we caught the flight.”

  • Actually, in fact: bir düzeltme.
  • Fortunately, certainly: kendi görüşünüz.
  • Eventually: bir gecikmeden sonra, sonunda. Asla “muhtemelen” demek değildir.
  • Yer önemlidir: “Clearly, he explained the delay.” “belli ki anlattı” demektir; “He explained the delay clearly.” ise anlatımının açık olduğunu söyler.

Owen Apparently, the bag was deliberately removed.

Maya Actually, staff moved it carefully after the label tore.

Owen I had hardly read the second note. I nearly accused the courier.

Maya Fortunately, you checked. The bag eventually reached baggage reclaim.

Owen Lately, I have been reacting too quickly to incomplete alerts.

Maya Ideally, the system should display the reason beside the movement.

Sık yapılan hatalar

Taslağınızda bunları kontrol edin:

  • “in the end of the flight”. Doğrusu “at the end of the flight”.
  • “such a severe turbulence”. Turbulence sayılamaz: “such severe turbulence”.
  • “She checked carefully the tag.” Tarz zarfı fiille kısa bir nesnenin arasına girmemeli: “She checked the tag carefully.”
  • Her cümlede had. Past perfect’i geriye adım için kullanın, sonra past simple’a dönün.

Günde 10 dakikalık pratik

Kendi gününüzden anlar seçin; öykünün tamamını hafta sonu yazın.

  • 3 dakika: Bugünden bir anı dört geçmiş zamanla anlatın.
  • 3 dakika: so, so many ve such a ile sonuçlar ekleyin.
Sonra tartışın: “Does a good story need a clear ending, or can it leave a question open?”

Ana geçmiş çizgiden önce olmuş bir olay için: “The crew discovered that a sensor had failed.” Sonra past simple’a dönün.

Hard ile hardly arasındaki fark nedir?

Hard “emek vererek”, hardly “neredeyse hiç” demektir: “I worked hard but had hardly slept.”

At the end mi, in the end mi?

At the end son noktadır ve genellikle of alır: “at the end of the flight”. In the end ise “sonunda” demektir: “In the end, we caught the flight.”
