In a school shadow-theatre workshop, lights shine toward a white curtain. A script, two costumes and character cut-outs rest beside the empty stage while a child checks the audience seats.

9–12세 아이가 A2 단계에서 공연 준비를 확인하며 just, already, yet을 쓰고, “We have just tested the lights.”와 “I finished it yesterday.”

“just”는 ‘방금’(“We have just tested the lights.”), “already”는 ‘이미’, 흔히 예상보다 일찍 끝났다는 뜻이고, “yet”은 아직 기다리는 일에 대한 질문과 부정문 끝에 옵니다(“Have you finished the script yet?”).

  • 이미 과거시제를 쓰는 아이의 부모님: 아이가 “I finished my homework yesterday.”
  • 아직 이른 경우: 아이가 아직 “Yesterday I go to the concert.”
  • 너무 쉬운 경우: “I haven’t packed yet, but I’ve already found my ticket.”

  • costume, make-up – 의상과 분장

현재완료: have/has + 과거분사

현재완료는 과거의 일을 지금과 연결합니다: “We have tested the lights.”

질문할 때는 have나 has를 주어 앞으로 보냅니다: “Have you found the costume?” 말할 때 부정문은 보통 줄여 씁니다: “I haven’t found it.”

  • I, you, we, they와 함께: “We have tested the lights.”
  • he, she, it과 함께: “She has found the costume.”

Just, already, yet, never

“just”와 “already”는 have와 과거분사 사이에 옵니다. “just”는 아주 조금 전, 즉 ‘방금’입니다: “We have just tested the lights.” “already”는 ‘이미, 벌써’에 가깝고, 흔히 예상보다 일찍 끝났다는 느낌입니다: “I have already checked the ending.”

“yet”은 질문과 부정문에 쓰고 문장 맨 끝에 옵니다: “No, I have not found it yet.” “never”는 지금까지 한 번도 없다는 뜻입니다: “I have never performed this part before.”

Nia Have you found the costume?

Leo No, I have not found it yet.

Leo What have we just tested?

Nia We have just tested the lights.

언제 일어났는지 말하거나 물을 때(yesterday, ten minutes ago, last year)는 과거시제를 쓰고, “When…?”

  • “I have checked the costume box.”:
  • “I checked it ten minutes ago.”:

Leo Have you finished the script yet?

Nia Yes. First I finished it yesterday. Then I checked the ending, and we have just tested the lights.

“CHARACTERS: Fox, Child, Narrator. SCENE: Behind the theatre curtain. (Child lifts a silver string.) FOX: I have just found the moon puppet. CHILD: The audience is waiting! NARRATOR: The light returns and the scene ends.”

  • “I have finished it yesterday.”: 끝난 시간이 있으면 과거시제입니다: “I finished it yesterday.”
  • “I have already finish.”: 과거분사를 씁니다: “I have already finished.”
  • “Have you yet finished?”: “yet”은 끝에 옵니다: “Have you finished yet?”
  • “I have found it yet.”: 긍정문에는 “already”를 씁니다: “I have already found it.”

이렇게 물어봅니다: “Have you packed your water bottle yet?” 아이는 “Yes, I have already packed it.”, “Not yet.”, “I have just done it!” 두 번째 판에서는 “When did you do it?”

다음으로 아이는 too와 enough로 문제와 해결을 말할 수 있습니다: “The costume is too big.” “The string is not long enough.”

“just”는 아주 조금 전, “already”는 흔히 예상보다 일찍 끝났다는 뜻이고, “yet”은 기다리던 일이 일어났는지 묻거나 말할 때 씁니다: “Have you finished yet?”

“I have finished it yesterday”

안 됩니다. yesterday나 last week처럼 끝난 시간과 함께라면 과거시제를 씁니다: “I finished it yesterday.” 시간을 말하지 않으면 현재완료를 씁니다: “I have finished it.”

“I just finished it”은 틀린 문장인가요?

미국 영어에서는 just, already, yet과 함께 과거시제를 자주 씁니다: “Did you finish it yet?”
