Meaning accumulates in suffixes
Turkish marks person, tense and case on words. Learn başlıyor and başlayacak as complete forms, then swap one suffix deliberately.
Direction and location use different cases
Toplantı odada means “in the room”; odaya means “to the room.” English prepositions do not map word for word onto these endings.
The question particle is separate
In Saat onda başlıyor, değil mi? the confirmation tag is written separately. Vowel harmony changes mi/mı/mu/mü in direct yes-no questions.

This polite plural/formal request asks someone to say the message once more. It is a repair, not an admission that you know no Turkish.
- Tam olarak ne demek istiyorsunuz?
- What exactly do you mean?
Use this when the words were heard but the speaker’s intention remains unclear. It directly asks for the exact meaning.

Use this to introduce your current interpretation before restating it; the listener can then confirm or correct you.

Does Turkish always put the verb last?
