This polite plural/formal request asks for repetition. пожалуйста softens it and can sit after the verb as shown.

Use this before restating your interpretation. понял is masculine and поняла feminine; choose the form that refers to you.

Russian normally omits “to be” in a simple present-tense identification.

A continuing duration uses уже два года; назад points to a finished time before now.
