- “There’s a jazz concert at the Riverside Café on Saturday the twenty-second.” –
- “I want to go because the saxophonist is fantastic.”
- “Would you like to come with us? We can meet at the entrance at seven.” –
- “See you, Ana” –
- “first” (1st), “second” (2nd), “third” (3rd) – 不規則
- “thirtieth” (30th), “thirty-first” (31st) – -ty は -tieth になる
- “the twenty-first of June”(イギリス英語寄り)または “June twenty-first”(アメリカ英語寄り)と言います。
“on the twenty-first”、“in June”、“at seven”。
好きなことを言う:like、love、don’t mind、hate + -ing
- “I love dancing.” – 大好き
- “I really like listening to live music.” – 好き
- “I don’t mind travelling on a Friday.” –
- “I don’t like waiting.” –
- “I hate being late.” –
- “I like to dance” という言い方も聞きます。
- “Would you like to come?” は誘いで、“Do you like jazz?”
be と do の疑問文
- “Is she a musician?” – “Yes, she is.”
- “Are you free on Saturday?” – “Yes, I am.”
- “Does she play jazz?” – “No, she doesn’t.”
- “What time does the concert start?” – “At eight.”
- “What kind of music do you like?” – “I really like jazz. It’s fantastic.”
I can’t go then”
“I can’t go then” は好みではなく、時間の話です。
Owen Do you like listening to folk music?
Maya Yes, and I love dancing.
Owen The folk night is on Friday the twenty-first.
Maya I can't go then. What about jazz on the twenty-third?
Owen Perfect. The saxophonist is fantastic.
“I like jazz.” “She plays the violin.”
- “jazz”, “folk”, “pop”, “hip hop”, “reggae”, “classical music” – “the” なし
- “the twenty-one of June” → “the twenty-first of June”
- “21th”、“11st” → 21st。
- “in Friday” → “on Friday”
- “I like listen to jazz.” “I don’t mind to travel.” → “I like listening to jazz.” “I don’t mind travelling.”
- “Do you are free?” “Is she play jazz?” → “Are you free?” “Does she play jazz?”
- “Do you like jazz?” – “Yes, I like.” → “Yes, I like it.” または “Yes, I do.” “I like she” ではなく “I like her” です。
- 日付が問題なのに “I don’t like folk” と言う。時間の問題なら “I can’t go then” と言いましょう。
“My birthday is on the twelfth of May.”
“What kind of music do you like?” “Are you free on the twenty-first?”
