Commercial Electronic Message Notice

This notice has been prepared by Global Education Technology, C-corp (“Flalingo”) in order to inform you about the sending of commercial electronic messages to you and about the processing, storage and transfer of your personal data for that purpose, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (“PECR”), the US CAN-SPAM Act and comparable electronic marketing and data protection laws in other jurisdictions.

In this context, the name, surname, telephone number and e-mail address you have shared with us will be processed — where you give your permission — for the purposes of conducting communication as part of our marketing activities, planning and carrying out our marketing processes, and sending commercial electronic messages such as service information, announcements, events, advertisements and promotions through the channels for which you have given your consent.

The legal basis for this processing is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), together with the specific consent requirement that applies to unsolicited electronic marketing communications under the ePrivacy Directive, PECR and equivalent legislation. Providing this consent is entirely optional; it is not a condition of creating an account or of purchasing any of our services.

You may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing the consent you gave for the sending of commercial electronic messages is treated as a withdrawal of your consent for this purpose, and it does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before the withdrawal.

You may withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge, through any of the following channels:

• by using the unsubscribe link included in every commercial electronic message we send you,
• through the communication preferences in your account settings,
• by sending an e-mail to info@flalingo.com.

Your request will be processed without undue delay, and no further commercial electronic messages will be sent to you after it has taken effect. Withdrawing your consent does not stop service-related messages that are necessary for the performance of our contract with you, such as lesson reminders, account notifications and billing information.

Your personal data will be used by Flalingo directly or through its data processors and, in line with the purposes set out above, will be shared with Flalingo’s business partners and suppliers. Where those recipients are located in another country, the transfer is carried out subject to the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy.

Detailed information about how we process your personal data, the retention periods that apply, international transfers and the rights available to you — including the right to object to direct marketing at any time and the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection supervisory authority — is set out in our Privacy Policy and our Member Privacy Notice.

This document is also available in other languages; in the event of any conflict between a translation and this English version, this English version shall prevail.
